What is a cold protection glove?

The EN 511 standard is specific to cold protection gloves and specifies 3 levels of tested resistance:

• Convective cold, for good thermal insulation.
• Contact cold, for a perfect resistance of the gloves in contact with a cold object.
• Waterproofness, for water and humidity resistance.

For the first two categories, the resistance level is rated from 0 to 4: the higher the number, the higher the performance.
